From Hutchinson to Newton: A Life of Service

Theresa, originally from Hutchinson, Kansas, and Gary, from Wichita, met while working in Hutchinson. After marrying in 1979, they raised three sons—two of whom now live in Newton, and one who resides in Kentucky. Their lives have been deeply rooted in service, faith, and family.
Gary’s Lifelong Ministry and Community Impact
Gary answered the call to ministry in 1991, later earning a PhD in Bible Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. For over 30 years, he served as a pastor in Kansas, leading congregations in Hutchinson and Leoti. His service extended beyond the church into various roles—he’s even helped with farm veterinary work! Now retired, he occasionally provides pulpit supply in local churches and stays connected to ministry through volunteer work.
Theresa’s Devotion to Community and Family
Theresa’s career included a decade as Director of the Open Door Pregnancy Care Center in Hutchinson, where she supported women and families during challenging times. Alongside her husband, she played a key role in ministry while raising their children and supporting their home life. Her commitment to service continues through her involvement in church and community life at KCH.
